Marine Fauna, Birds, and Mammals of the Atlantic Forest
Discover the fauna and the natural wonders of the Coastal Islands
of Rio de Janeiro and the astonishing Green Coast with Tropical
Cruises.
Our private tours, in a modern fleet of yachts and boats, provide
excellent opportunities for bird-watching, as well as for sighting
of the marine mammalian fauna that inhabit, or migrate through,
the Rio de Janeiro Region; snorkeling and fishing equipment may
also be used, without additional costs, to enhance the experience
of our clients.
We visit several Coastal and Oceanic Islands for nature watching
and diving, including the Cagarras Archipelago, Redonda, Tijucas,
Rasa Islands and also Father, Mother, and Daughter Islands in
front of Itaipu beach. Snorkeling, diving, and fishing expeditions
can be also made at Maricas Islands in front of Itaipuaçu
e Marica beaches. In the Green Coast, our itineraries include
the Tropical Islands, Ponta da Pombeba at Marambaia Restinga ,
Ilha Grande, and several Islands and beaches of the Angra dos
Reis and Parati coastline.
Our exclusive scuba diving private trips offer plenty of chances
for the sighting of superb marine fauna. Our diving program is
performed with the supervision of specialized guides (Dive Masters)
from PDIC- and PADI- accredited diving firms; our diving outings
are always carried out in fast vessels (motor boats and yachts),
which allow us to reach the diving grounds (e.g., Cagarras Islands)
in less than 30 minutes after our departure from the Baia de Guanabara
(Guanabara Bay) dock.
Our diving and sightseeing programs are tailored to our client's
schedules: they decide the times for departure and return. Boat
tours can also be combined with other activities, such as special
tours along the nice beach coast of Rio, sport fishing, and lunch
at exceptional restaurants in Itaipu beach and Niteroi. The special
diving programs can also be complemented with our optional service
of open bar and snacks and by a guide / dive master fluent in
several languages such as English, French, Spanish, Hebrew, and
others at your request.
We also offer exclusive itineraries for nature watching in the
Costa Verde (Green Coast) of Rio de Janeiro State. Several species
of marine birds, as well as some species of marine mammals such
as dolphins and porpoises, can be sighted in the Green Coast.
Programs for bird and mammal-watching in the Atlantic Forest of
the Green Coast are carried out in several sites, such as Tropical
Islands, Ponta da Pombeba at Maranbaia Restinga (sand strip),
Ilha Grande, and the islands and coast of Angra dos Reis and Parati;
all those areas have lush Atlantic Forest vegetation cover, providing
excellent conditions for mammal- and bird-watching. We also offer
optional extended programs that include trips to the Itatiaia
National Park, providing additional opportunities for mammal and
bird watching in different habitats, such as montane forest and
Campos de Altitude (‘Brazilian Paramos’).
In this fashion, we can offer an unique mammal or bird watching
experience, full with nautical activities, such as snorkeling,
diving, fishing, sleeping on cozy sailboats, motor-boats, or yachts,
and enjoying the exquisite environment of Tropical Islands, Ilha
Grande, Angra dos Reis and Parati.
